  Hydro Excavation
Scott Environmental Group Ltd. performs safe, non-destructive digging for contractors, municipalities, utility companies and industrial facilities. It is incredibly crowded under the sod now with pipes, ducts, sewer lines, water, gas, electrical service, phone and optical lines vying for space. If the locate is out by 5 inches the results could be catastrophic.
Our vacuum excavation method uses pressurized water and a powerful vacuum to remove soil from any type of ground condition. Our 800,000 BTU heater allows us to cut through thick ground frost and blue clay. Scott's hydro-excavation system virtually eliminates the risk of damaging existing underground infrastructures such as expensive fiber optic cables, electric cables, water pipes, sanitary pipes and dangerous gas lines. The uses of our hydro-excavation system include:

Utility and Light Poles
Utility pole holes are our specialty. Using auger trucks to dig holes is slow and risky to existing underground gas lines, water lines, and sanitary lines. Recently in the news, an auger truck near an Ohio airport went up in flames when it hit a gas line causing expensive damage to a car lot and a business. Nearby businesses had to evacuate their personnel resulting in huge losses. Why take the risk when our equipment can dig the holes faster, safer, and is less expensive.

Utility pole replacement projects can be performed with ease. Auger trucks have to be operated close to existing overhead lines risking injury or even death. Auger trucks destroy underground infrastructures causing injury or even death. Scott's hydro-excavation truck safely excavates the soil from the ground where you want a hole. Concrete light pole bases, traffic signal light bases, and sign bases can be excavated in just minutes.

All of the conduit can be installed to the center of the base locations. Then our hydro-excavator will quickly excavate the exact diameter hole. loose soil conditions are no problem for Scott Industrial. We can sink a 2' sonotube 10' deep in minutes. Auger trucks can't compete with Scott in hard soils or sloughing conditions

Frozen ground is no problem for Scott Industrial. We have a heater on the truck that heats the water we use in the excavation. This allows quick year round excavations through the deepest ground frost. The heated water carves the soil with precision and the powerful vacuum removes the water and soil immediately leaving a clean excavation site. NO fuss and no mess left to clean up with a shovel and wheel barrow.

Trenching
Scott Industrial can slot trench across, above, and beside other underground utilities without damaging the existing infrastructures. Our hydro-excavation process allows us to dig the precise width and depth of the trench reducing ground restoration costs, backfill, concrete encasement, and asphalt patching. A standard 24" bucket doesn't make sense when installing three 4" conduits. We can dig a 36" deep 6" wide trench or a 24" deep 12" wide trench for the three 4" conduits. Now the backfill, patching, and ground restoration costs are at the minimum levels.

Scott Industrial can slot trench beside and under trees without extensive damage to the root systems. Everyone in the community is concerned about the environment and trees are symbols for the ecologically concerned. The replacement of mature specimen trees isn’t feasible, so keeping damage to a minimum is important. Roots are left intact, the lower limbs aren't disturbed keeping the tree alive and unbroken.
