High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter (HEPA) vacuums are used in cleaning of biological hazards such as bat (chirotera) and pigeon (columbidae) droppings. Recent studies have indicated that these droppings pose a severe health hazard to humans due to the presence of the fungus H. capuliatum. This fungus has been identified as the fungus responsible for a serious respiratory disease called Histoplasmosis.
When H. capulitum is inhaled it has detrimental effects on the lungs and other vital organs. These effects may become chronic and persist for many years after exposure. Our qualified service technicians isolate the contaminated areas and contains the droppings using HEPA vacuum systems and self-contained breathing apparatus. A final high pressure wash of all exposed surfaces completes the service thereby eliminating the risk of disease transmission. |
